Howard is an experienced brand strategist helping organizations to clarify their brands, reposition to achieve greater impact, and sharpen their fundraising to raise more money. His work has received numerous awards and has been published in many design books.
Howard founded Red Rooster Group in 2001 based on his belief that nonprofit organizations need robust brands to be competitive forces for good in our society. He has led the company in completing hundreds of projects for nonprofit organizations of all kinds.
During his career, Howard founded several initiatives to help colleagues learn and connect including, TechNetNY, a speaking series on technology and marketing, Nonprofit Networking Dinners around specific topics, and Advice-Link, connecting nonprofits with consultants.
Howard is an award-winning designer and brand strategist who has been helping nonprofits to improve their branding, marketing, and design for more than 20 years. Working on national and local levels, he has helped organizations define their marketing strategies, create compelling websites, launch award-winning publications, and appeal to donors.
Clients have included the Annie E. Casey Foundation, ConsumerReports.org, National Parkinson Foundation, National Speech & Debate Association, Partnership With Native Americans, the Tourette Association of America.
He is the author of a series of guides on nonprofit branding, and the founder of the Actionology Method of using behavioral science to create more effective brands, marketing campaigns, and fundraising outreach.
